Harpenden Society Award for Lea Grange Care Home

🏆 We’re delighted that Lea Grange Care Home, operated by Porthaven Care Homes, has been honoured with the prestigious Harpenden Society Award for its outstanding architecture and contribution to the local community!

As the original architect, RDT Architects worked alongside developer Jarvis Homes, and operator Porthaven Care Homes to transform this former retail and commercial site near the River Lea into a luxurious, purpose-built care home.

From the initial concept, RDT Architects vision was to create a welcoming, community-focused environment emphasising space, comfort, accessibility, and quality of life. We secured planning approval by presenting an architectural vision that married functionality with elegance. Every detail, from the private, en-suite bedrooms to vibrant communal areas, was crafted to foster comfort and social engagement.

Following the sale of the site to Porthaven Care Homes, Condy Lofthouse Architects developed the design in the construction phase with Kori Construction Limited as the main contractor.

We’re proud to see Lea Grange Care Home recognised and to have played a part in bringing this award-winning care home to Harpenden.
