Award-Winning Care Design at Westgate

@RDT are delighted to share that Wain House in Westgate has received a Town Pride Award Commendation from the Margate Civic Society, recognising excellence in architecture and the preservation of local heritage across Margate and the surrounding areas.

Designed by RDT Architects for Avante Care & Support, this 70-bed care facility provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care within a high-quality environment focused on wellbeing, dignity and connection.

The design creates a safe and uplifting setting with clear wayfinding, welcoming communal spaces and carefully considered amenities that encourage independence, social interaction and everyday enjoyment. With features including a café, cinema, hair salon and landscaped gardens, the home provides a warm, engaging and person-centred environment for residents and visitors alike.

This award is a fantastic piece of recognition for the team, the home and the wider organisation, and reflects the value of creating places that positively support people, community and care through design.
