Designing for Inclusivity: An Engaging Altro CPD

We were delighted to welcome Altro to our new office recently for a CPD session on Designing for Inclusivity - and to have our colleagues at Boast Architects connecting with us via Teams to share insights and spark discussion.

A few of the statistics really surprised us and reinforced just how essential inclusive design is in education and beyond:
• 300+ languages are used by children in schools throughout the UK
• 20% of children use English as an additional language (EAL)
• 17% of children have special educational needs (SEN)
• 24% of the UK population has a disability — around 16 million people
• And around 80% of disabilities are hidden — approximately 13 million people
