Exciting Progress at Harpenden Care Home!
At RDT Architects, our commitment to quality and consistency in our construction details is playing a crucial role in the development of this cutting-edge 75-bed care home in Harpenden for Oakland Care.
By working closely with Oakland Care’s operations team and securing planning approval in collaboration with Jarvis Homes, we've ensured that our design process is characterised by clear and precise detailing and buildability.
Currently under construction with Building Construction Partnership, the team has commended the quality of our drawings and emphasised how our collaborative approach is proving highly beneficial during the construction phase, efficiently resolving any site queries. Our 3D BIM-compliant approach has further minimised any site conflicts, improved efficiency, and ensured smooth progress.
This project is a true collaborative effort, with significant contributions from Coast Consulting Engineers, Royston Jones, Core and Aedifice Partnership Project Managers. Together, we are setting new benchmarks in care home design, combining comfort, sustainability, and community integration.
Technical Director, Scott Smallwood, recently visited the site and was delighted to see that the scaffolding has now been removed revealing the detailed brickwork facades beneath. The external hard landscaping is underway and the internals are also progressing well with the plaster boarding nearing completion throughout the building. The site looks fantastic and showcases the impressive progress made so far.”
If you’re looking to deliver a care home project with design precision that supports efficient construction, we’d love to hear from you.
