Exploring Inclusive Design with HBCEC

Exploring Inclusive Design with HBCEC

A huge thank you to the Herts & Beds Constructing Excellence Club for organising such an insightful and thought-provoking event last week, hosted at the impressive offices of Altro Group.

Some of the team from RDT had the pleasure of hearing from Stephanie Kyle of Floyd Slaski Architects, whose award-winning work and deep commitment to designing for neurodiversity and inclusivity was truly inspiring.

Stephanie’s presentation challenged us to think beyond the standard regulations of Part M and BS 8300, and to consider the broader spectrum of inclusive design. Her approach reminded us that inclusivity and great design are not mutually exclusive - they can and should go hand in hand.

It was an engaging and eye-opening session, and it’s clear there is so much more for us all to learn in this space. At RDT, we’re committed to expanding our understanding and applying these important principles to create spaces that are welcoming, accessible, and beautiful for everyone.

Thanks again to HBCEC and Altro for hosting such a valuable event - we’re looking forward to continuing the conversation.
