RDT Architects were thrilled to be part of the groundbreaking ceremony at the Former Little Furze Primary School site in South Oxhey with our clients Hertfordshire County Council and Kori Construction Limited. This marks the beginning of an incredible journey towards a transformative development.
Our collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council is centred on sustainability and innovation. The upcoming project includes a distinctive 75-bed care home alongside essential site infrastructure, facilitating up to 70 new homes.
At the heart of our design is a commitment to sustainability. The 3-storey care home employs a fabric-first approach. Working closely with our clients, stakeholders, and the project team, we've integrated fully electric energy source supported by roof-mounted PV panels and Air Source Heat Pumps. These elements are geared to meet the needs of both the new home and its future residents.
Last Friday, our team engaged with neighbours, local councillors, and the wider client and project team on-site, showcasing our vision for the development through immersive 3D CGI and animations.
We eagerly anticipate continuing our support for Hertfordshire County Council and Kori Construction throughout this journey. This home will not only be a significant asset for our client but also a vital addition to the local community, benefitting future residents immensely.
