It's Throwback Thursday

We can’t believe is was over three years since we completed the new waste transfer depot for Buckinghamshire Council (formerly Aylesbury Vale District Council).
This redevelopment of the existing vacant commercial site included the re-provision of vehicle repair and MOT workshop and waste transfer station sorting building for recycling and food waste, with upgraded external areas and parking provision. The project provides waste collection vehicles somewhere to transfer recyclable materials and items collected from over 88,000 households. These items are stored at the Waste Transfer Station before being transferred to a company in Leicester for sorting, separating and making into new products.
Working collaboratively with Morgan Sindall, the consultant design team and the supply chain, RDT Architects were involved through the planning, tender and construction phases of this project. RDT’s values and passion for problem solving enabled the project to be successfully delivered on a site with significant constraints of flood design and specialist fire detection and suppression requirements which successfully addressed the risk of fire within the waste storage and the potential for contaminated water discharging into the water course.
If you have a similar project with flooding and fire constraints, our team would be delighted to discuss this further with you.
