Looking back at 10 years ago

It is fascinating to look back at what was happening in the news 10 years ago, at a time when RDT were celebrating their 10th Anniversary:-

• Gareth Bale’s Transfer: The historic transfer from Tottenham Hotspurs to Real Madrid for a record fee of £85.3m was a major sports news story.
• Microsoft’s Nokia Acquisition: Microsoft purchases Nokia for $7.2 billion marking a significant move in the tech industry.
• Buckingham Palace Intrusion: A man arrested for scaling a fence to enter the Palace captured public attention.
• Japan’s Nuclear Reactor Shutdown: Japan’s decision to switch off its last working nuclear reactor highlighted the country’s stance on nuclear energy post-Fukushima.
• Grand Theft Auto: The fastest entertainment product to reach $1 billion in sales showcased the immense popularity of the gaming franchise.
• Animal Print Clothing Ban: Chessington World of Adventures banned animal print clothing because ‘animals at the wildlife park find it confusing’.
• UK Leadership: David Cameron is Prime Minister and George Osborne served as Chancellor of the Exchequer.
• Child Rescue in China: A significant rescue operation in China saved ninety-two children from a suspected trafficking ring.
• Movie and Music: Despicable Me 2 was released and Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ dominated the charts.
• BIM Adoption: RDT’s early adoption of Building Information Modelling two years after its introduction highlighted our commitment to innovative and efficient architectural practices.

RDT were embracing cutting-edge technology and staying attuned to global and local events while celebrating their 10th Anniversary year. The adoption of BIM likely contributed to the continued success of the practice.
