Buildings in Conservation Area and of Historic Interest

Over the last 20 years, RDT have been privileged to contribute to the preservation of our rich heritage by working on historic buildings and in conservation areas. Each project is a testament to our commitment to honouring the past while embracing the future.

· Renovation & extension of existing #MuchHadham Fire Station for Hertfordshire County Council including increasing roof and door opening for larger fire engine

· Conversion of existing agricultural workshop at Luton Hoo Estate for Land Rover Experience offices

· Restoration and refurbishment of former Hertfordshire County Council building in #Hatfield to create 7 modern apartments retaining the original stonework, staircase and mosaic tiling. During renovation boxes of programmes from the Queen’s Coronation in 1953 were discovered.

· Various listed pub and conservation area buildings including Grade ll former Coaching Inn including feasibilities, refurbishments and extensions.

· Various works for Grade ll* listed 18th century Dunham Lodge #Georgian Manor House which received an English Heritage award.

· Listed buildings on Dunham Estate including Gardener’s Cottage, Gatehouse, Glasshouse, Coach House, Stable Block and Walled Garden and feasibility for tea rooms and a Visitor’s Centre.

· Feasibility design for conversion of several barn buildings in conservation areas to residential and preparation of planning drawings.

· Award winning new build luxury apartment buildings in #Harpenden for Jarvis Homes on former hotel site designed in traditional #Georgian style to compliment the conservation area context including full architectural design from site appraisal to completion.

· Feasibility, planning and detailed design for refurbish and new build extension of Grade II care home building in #Huntingdon town centre conservation area including interior design scheme, bespoke bar and servery designs.

· Lead consultant and architect for interior design proposals for one contemporary and one traditional restaurant and bar and sensitive shopfront proposal for iconic Grade II* hotel building in the centre of #Ashbourne.

· Award winning #Harpenden apartment buildings formed of 10 new 2-bedroom apartments over two blocks within the context of the surrounding #Edwardian style houses and conservation area. RDT involved from detailed feasibility and planning through to full architectural design.

· Lead consultant in the expansion of various existing grain store facilities for Albanwise incorporating new multi-bay and single storage grain stores, relocation of dryers, yard slabs and access roads.
