Richard is a keen beekeeper and has been keeping bees for the last 2 years and now has a total of 4 hives. He has even extracted honey for the office to enjoy.

Last week he carried out a cut out of a bees nest locally.

The bees had been living in the side of a farm building for a couple of years after making a nest.

The bees were very calm and Richard removed the internal lining of the wall to gain access to the nest. The nest was in three layers which we removed and cut to fit new hive frames.

The bees were then transferred to their new hive in the wood.

Fortunately, whilst he didn’t find the queen on the day, she safely made the journey and she is now happily laying new eggs.
