RDT are excited to be a finalist in the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards 2024 for Alston House Care Home in Eastleigh in the 'Residential Project of the Year' category.

These awards recognise the very best construction companies, collaborations and projects from across London & the SouthEast and we are looking forward to celebrating with all the finalists at the Gala Event in June!

The collaborative efforts of Hamberley Development, operators Hamberley Care Homes and the wider Design Team including project managers Fed3 Projects Limited and contractors Highwood Group translated the findings of the design process into a successful realisation.

Developed through continuous consultation with key stakeholders and Eastleigh Borough Council, Alston House respects the urban context with a thoughtful approach to scale, mass, and position on site.

Alston House offers residential, dementia, nursing care and short breaks in a luxurious setting accommodating up to 84 residents. Located on the former site of Eastleigh Police Station, Alston House seamlessly merges modern elegance with the historical charm of the original 1924 building. Carefully restored and converted, it now accommodates four luxury apartments and a boutique café at its heart while preserving the integrity of the former police station.

Staff observations underscore the environment’s positive impact on residents, enhancing self-value, motivation, and the opportunity to maintain life skills longer.
