Transforming Care in South Oxhey

We are pleased to share the exciting progress at the Little Furze Care Home site, a project set to transform care provision in South Oxhey.

This exceptional 75-bedroom care home, developed in collaboration with Herts County Council, is designed to meet the growing need for high-quality, compassionate care in the community. Situated on a 2-acre land parcel, the development also includes 70 residential homes and apartments, maximizing the potential of the former Little Furze Primary School site.

From the project's inception, RDT Architects have worked closely with Herts County Council, guiding it through feasibility and planning stages. Now advancing through the design phase, we are partnering with Kori Construction for the construction stage while continuing to serve as a client advisory consultant for Herts County Council.

Our Operations Director, Stephen Travis, visited the site with Natalie Eccles and was pleased with the progress: “The internal rooms and external garden areas integrate seamlessly, embracing the challenging topography of the site. This design ensures garden access from all floors of the building. I am excited to see the scaffolding come down, revealing the building's full potential and watching the external landscaping take shape.”

Seeing this project come to life is incredibly rewarding, as it will provide significant benefits to the South Oxhey community. We are proud to contribute to a development that enhances care quality and fosters community well-being.
