Max Fordham (M&E Engineers) have been notified that this care home has been shortlisted for the prestigious CIBSE Building Performance Award.

Hendon Care Home was completed in 2018 for Jewish Care. The scheme provides 32 independent living flats as well as community and staff facilities. These include 1 and 2 bedroom apartments over two buildings orientated around a landscaped courtyard and communal gardens.

The internal design considered the needs of dementia care users, to accommodate future needs of the tenants, as well as the Jewish ethos for observant visitors and building users.

RDT were proud to be Architects on this new build development, working closely with Jewish Care’s operations team to evolve the planning approved scheme into a platform to meet the functional needs of the extra care facility, providing tender design services and delivering 3D construction information which co-ordinated with other appointed consultants, including Max Fordham.

RDT maintained a client advisory role during the on-site to construction phases and also carried out the Principal Designer role.

The CIBSE Awards Ceremony will be held in London on 24th February so fingers crossed!
