Work Experience Spotlight
Recently we welcomed Louis, from Harlington Upper School (Sixth Form) to the team for work experience.
As part of his time with RDT, Louis was set a real‑world challenge: to design a house and present his ideas back to the practice. From early concepts through to explaining his design decisions, he approached the task with enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence.
Organised by our lovely Administrator Brianna Webster, Louis was supported throughout by our Work Experience Champions, Natalie Eccles and George Hansford and learned how ideas develop from a brief into a design and the importance of problem‑solving.
For us, offering work experience is about opening the door to our profession. Architecture can feel like a closed world from the outside, and opportunities like this help young people understand what the role really involves – and see that a career in the built environment is achievable.
We’re proud to support the next generation and to play our part in inspiring future designers.
Well done, Louis – and thank you for presenting your work so confidently to the team 👏
